A Mom’s Thrifted DIY Crafts

It’s all the rage and it’s what all the moms are talking about! Get your home looking like the cover of a Better Homes and Gardens magazine this spring with thrifted DIY crafts. You might be wondering:

What does DIY stand for?

To start off, we like to think of a DIY project as a “do it yourself” craft that takes many items and mixes them together to create something new. A thrifted DIY craft is especially great because you get all your items at a low price!

How do you know what to look for when shopping for DIY projects?

It all depends on what your needs are. In other words, look around your home or office and see if you are missing anything. The average American home has 9 DIY jobs that need to be done. Start small and work your way up to bigger projects. A lot of DIY enthusiasts can’t find what they want specifically in stores, so they create something instead!

Where do I find inspiration for DIY crafts?

Grab a seat because we’ve got some before and after thrifted DIY craft inspiration from fellow moms to help you create your first DIY masterpiece!

Mama Nat isn’t a regular Instagram mom, she’s a cool Instagram mom that creates DIY and lifestyle inspiration content. She calls this DIY craft design “faux pottery” and it’s super easy to recreate! Mama Nat got these glass vases from a thrift store, then painted them neutral colors for a DIY décor look.

Ashley Grassi shows us how you can take a painting found at a thrift store and turn it into something new that fits your home aesthetic. Paint can go a long way with DIY crafts. Wait, you can make cabinets into nightstands? This DIY mom did and look how they turned out! The chevron design and size were exactly what she was looking for, but the fake wood was not working for her. The before and after photos show how an item you never thought would work, can definitely work if you think outside the box.
