Spring is FINALLY here and we’ve got 5 spring shopping trends that we can’t wait to try on. This entire past year has felt like an alternate reality and I’m personally just excited to soak up some sun. First things first, our stores are starting to stock all the fun spring and summer fits to get you defrosted and ready for a new season!
1. Flirty Florals
There’s nothing like a floral dress to bring out the nostalgia in you. This time of year, you can always count on a floral pattern of some sort to make an appearance. This spring season, we’re seeing a lot of 80’s vintage or kitschy florals. These are not the large, romantic florals, but smaller, more busy patterns that really catch your eye. This trend is easy to find at your local thrift store! Since the patterns have a lot going on, pair with fun earrings and a simple, solid color bag.
2. Cute Cut-Outs
Sheer clothing is officially out and the cut-out trend is crawling all over the runways and social media. The great thing about this trend is that a lot of vintage pieces already feature the cut-outs. Even though the 90’s seems like yesterday, anything over 20 years is actually considered vintage, which means this hot trend in the 90’s is back and better than ever. Luckily spring thrifting at our stores is easy and we’re always replenishing the floors with new, vintage product!
3. Mini, Midi and Maxi Dresses
Now that the weather is warming up, it’s time to take advantage of it and show off some skin. What’s the catch? You get to decide how much skin to show off with these spring trends! Unlike previous years, skirt and dress lengths are all equally tied this season. Miniskirts, midi dresses and the ever-faithful maxi length are ALL in this spring. So, if you’re a mom on the go or a busy college student, you can never go wrong with a classic dress that you can just throw on and go.
4. All Wrapped Up
Wrap tops and dresses are all the rage right now. Not only do they create a kind of effortless look, but they also immediately add dimension to any look. You can get a wrap dress with ruffles, animal print or flirty florals. Pair wrap tops with midi skirts, “paper bag” shorts, or flare pants to create multiple looks for a vacation, the farmers market or brunch.
5. Monochromatic Moods
When you think of typical monochromatic looks, you might immediately think of your favorite loungewear set or sweatpants. But the great thing about this, is that it generally requires less time and comes across as effortless. A monochromatic outfit consists of pieces chosen of one color. So, if you’re in a monochromatic mood, you can elevate this look by pairing it with layered jewelry, a fun bag, or strappy heels and sandals. This is honestly one of my go-to looks so I’m glad it is making a return for spring trends. This type of look might require testing, but the beauty is that you don’t have to have absolutely, 100% matching colors. They can be shades of one main color to create a subtle but still showstopping look.
I hope this post helps inspire you on your next thrift outing or spring shopping trip. Keep in mind, any of these tips can be applied to new or vintage outfits. Next time you’re putting together your spring looks, remember the style tips from this post! Don’t forget to tag us in those Insta posts!
